Iran’s ‘Sweet Taste of Darkness’ to vie in US

Iranian ‘Sweet Taste of Darkness’ is to compete at the 2021 KIDS FIRST! Film Festival in the US.

Iranian short flick ‘Sweet Taste of Darkness’ has been selected to compete at the 2021 KIDS FIRST! Film Festival in the US.

Directed by Mitra Raees-Mohammadi, the short film is about a young boy who thinks that he is Batman.

According to the website of World Film Communities Network, “This is a story of a seven-year-old boy who identifies with the character of Batman. He encourages his friends to cross the stairs and the streets in the dark with their eyes closed and his mother, who is tired and disgusted with her life because they both have a common reason with different approaches and views…”

The cast list of the short film includes Roham Heidarali, Mahtab Servati, Mahsa Baqeri, Amir-Hossein Farrokhi, Ermia Khandan, Abolfazl Gharibi, Amir-Hossein Javid, and Farbod Ahmadpour.

The KIDS FIRST! Film Festival provides an opportunity for filmmakers to showcase their works. The festival partners with more than 50 venues that screen the selections.

The 2021 edition of the event is slated for February 24-27.
